Regulation Building Workshops

Empowering young people to understand and manage their emotions, behaviour, and responses to challenging situations. Discover practical strategies for emotional regulation and constructive decision-making.

What are Regulation Building Workshops?

The main goal of CBTL’s Regulation Building Workshops is to help young people develop the skills needed to understand and manage their emotions, behaviour and responses to challenging situations. Many young people experience stress, frustration or conflict without having the tools to regulate their reactions.

These workshops introduce practical strategies that help participants recognise emotional triggers, pause before reacting and make more constructive decisions. Through guided discussion, reflective exercises and practical techniques, young people learn how to regulate their responses, communicate more effectively and navigate difficult situations in a calmer and more responsible way.

Who This Programme Is For

CBTL Regulation Building Workshops are designed for young people who may be experiencing challenges with emotional regulation, behaviour, engagement in school or decision-making.

• Youth involved with pastoral support or mentoring programmes

What participants will do

CBTL’s Regulation Building Workshops are practical and interactive. Young people take part in guided discussions, reflection exercises and group activities that help them explore how emotions influence behaviour and decision-making. Participants learn practical techniques to recognise emotional triggers, pause before reacting and respond more constructively to challenging situations.. Activities may include scenario discussions, problem-solving exercises and communication practice that help young people develop greater awareness of their responses and the impact of their choices. The workshops are designed to be engaging, supportive and relevant to the real-life experiences young people face in school, peer relationships and everyday situations.

Safety and Effectiveness

CBTL’s Regulation Building Workshops are designed and delivered with safeguarding, professionalism and accountability at the centre of the programme. The approach is trauma-informed and focuses on supporting young people in developing emotional awareness, behavioural self-management and positive decision-making.
